Cross Country 9/26/2021

We spent the weekend with our good friends Tom and Lorrie in Merrillville, IN.  We met them when our kids were at the Air Force Academy and because we share a faith and love Jesus, we have become amazing friends and try to visit whenever we can.  This friendship has stood the test of time and distance!

Merrillville is home to Albanese Candy Factory and they have the most amazing gummies!  Of course we visited!  And if you’re ever in the area you should too!

After a wonderful breakfast this morning we headed out to continue our journey.  We headed into Illinois and stopped at the Illinois Railroad Museum, the largest one in the US.  If there’s one thing Jeff loves almost as much as planes it’s trains!  And they had some awesome ones.

Look at the size of those wheels!

They also had cable cars.

Y’all dining on a train use to be a big deal and was pretty fancy.  Wish it was still that way.

Then we headed into Wisconsin.

We saw lots of fields and we began to see some color in the trees.

We arrived in Minnesota in time to enjoy dinner at Wahlburgers in the Mall of America, which has an amusement part and a Goofy Golf course inside the mall.

A very bad Welcome to Minnesota sign.  The only way you can tell is by the shape!

We are here in Minneapolis for the night and will continue on tomorrow.
